Kings Island Haunted House Depicts Grizzly Steve McNair Murder Scene

I always hate this time of year because I know at some point my wife is going to want to talk me into forking over $15 to have someone scare the shit out of me. Not cool.

Also not cool is this years haunted house attraction at Cincinnati’s Kings Island. Each year they open the amusement park for a haunted house style event and apparently shock and awe will come in the form of controversy. This year the park plans on making a spectacle out of the 9,000 celebrities that have died this year. Included are Heath Ledger surrounded by pill bottles, Farrah Fawcett in a red tank top, and several others including Michael Jackson and Ed McMahon.

I live in the Nashville area so you can imagine how fired up the talk radio was when pictures of the Steve McNair scene got out.

While I can understand why people are upset, I am more confused at why Kings Island thought this was a good idea. Not because of the tackiness of it all, but because it just doesn’t make sense. Is the goal to scare people or make them laugh. (You can see Sonny Bono on skies crashed into a tree in this video). There is nothing at all scary about it. It just seems like to me that the park is just trying to create publicity, which apparently they have.

What do you think, is using this years dead celebrities as props a terrible idea or just really misunderstood?
