I didn’t watch the show last night but I can imagine how uncomfortable it would have been for those in the audience and even those watching at home. Short story: former 48 Hours producer Joe Halderman knew some sex scandal dirt on Letterman (he was banging women that work for his show) and was trying to blackmail/extort 2 million from him. Before the audience knew it was for real and knew all the dirt it was pretty awkward to hear them laugh at his half hearted jokes towards the situation. I think it’s awesome that Letterman dealt with this clown the way he did. This might set an example for anyone else trying to get rich quick.
