Nothing sucks worse than being extremely hungry, finally making it to lunch time, and then realizing some low life schmuck has eaten your food. It’s a roller coaster of emotions. You feel violated that you had something personal stolen, you feel embarrassed that now someone knows you bring ABC’s and 123′s and vanilla pudding snack packs for lunch, and you feel angry that now you have to make other plans for lunch. Here are 5 tips for stopping the break room bandit from stealing your grub.
Make Light Of The Thief To Let Him Know You Are Watching
If you are wanting to avoid a huge confrontation and just want to let the thief know that you and everyone else is aware of his thievery, place a simple note in or around the fridge to let them know people are watching. Be humorous about it, have fun. If that doesn’t work try the next tip…
Leave A More Direct Message For The Thief
Sometimes humor and lightheartedness doesn’t work. Some thieves will need a more blunt approach to the message. Take these for example:

Trick The Thief Away From Your Lunch
There are a lot of foods that some people just won’t eat. Like liver or lamb nuts. It’s not fair for you to have to acquire a taste for such foods just to keep a thief away. Instead, just make your food look like it sucks or is spoiled.
Sabotage Your Food And Hope For The Best
If all else fails, it’s going to take some guerilla tactics to persuade your thief to stop pilfering. You can put a note on your food that says you sprayed it with a bodily fluid or something else that sounds nasty or unappealing or you can go ahead and pack up some raunchy food and hope the thief gets a bad case of the shits. OR if the shits are your desired karma, then lace up a bologna sandwich with some nice Dulcolax.
Secure Your Lunch In A Safe Place
Obviously if you have tried the above steps and nothing works, then it might be a good idea to not put your food in a public fridge. Maybe bring a cooler or a thermal lunchbox. If you feel like you just must use the fridge then get a fridge locker…yeah, they make those. Sure the culprit could just make off with the whole locker, but that’s going to be pretty hard to hide.
