15 Of The Worst Comic Book Adaptations

Since Hollywood is fresh out of ideas the latest craze seems to be comic book adaptations. Sometimes you get lucky, but for the most part they take the hero you love and turn them into something completely different. Included are 15 trailers of comic book adaptations that tanked so hard I’m willing to bet Hollywood will reboot for remakes.

1. Daredevil (2003)

2. The Punisher (2004)

3. Steel (1997)

4. Batman and Robin (1997)

5. Catwoman (2004)

V for Vendetta is a fantastic film and has a 73% rating on rottentomatoes.com. The other films are notorious for being bad, but you really screwed the pooch on the last one. Most people say it’s bad because Allen Moore didn’t like it, but this isn’t true. He didn’t even watch it. After the raping of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (no clue why that’s not on there) he didn’t want anything to do with any other film adaptations. He didn’t take a dime from Watchmen. He gave his cut to the artist.

    Eric Allan Kramer as Thor
Cathy Lee Crosby as Wonder Woman

Um, if you're going to make a list of movies that “tanked so hard” you might actually want to make it a list about movies that bombed and not just ones you don't like. Hellboy Cost 65 mill to make and pulled in 100 mill world wide, not bad for a supernatural indie comic movie. The sequel pulled in 160 mill world wide and only cost 85 mill to make. Constantine, while not a perfect movie was good, and made 230 mill world wide and cost 100 mill. V for Vendetta cost 54 mill and made 132 mill world wide. Blade cost 45 mill to make and earned 131 mill. For a movie to be considered tanking so hard or a flop then it must not make back the cost of making it. So in reality you are only listing movies you think suck and that and classifying them as the worst superhero movies. You need to clarify why each movie is on the list, because you only statement about them is they “tanked so hard” but obviously some of them didn't tank, and infact were successful and well recieved enough to even get sequels, like Blade 2 and 3(I hate both of those movies but again, it's just proof that the first Blade did good.) and Hellboy 2 with was even more successful then the first one.

I'm soooooooooo sorry but your list SUX! V For Vendetta HERE??? ARE YOU F.KIDDIN' ME??? Go to hell dude, really.

  12. SirWilliam says:

Yeah, this list is really pretty awful. V for Vendetta is an obvious one, but other decent ones – such as Punisher – don't really belong on this list ahead of the many other shittier comic book adaptations that have been released throughout the years.

  13. yada says:

this guy obviously dont know what he is talking about. V for Vendetta? no way…

  14. Shallow Idiot says:

You obviously have not watched a lot of movies…
Hellboy did NOT tank, neither did Blade, and a couple of others there…15 years??? most of the movies you listed there are barely even 10 years old….
Don't try to act smart when you are clearly a Shallow Idiot.

  15. Clashrock says:

I love V for Vendetta in both film and graphic novel format. Sames goes for Hellboy.

The punisher wasn't awful either, not awesome but not awful!

  16. terribad list says:

OP clearly was just making posts out of what he knew, and probably ran out of candidates somewhere from 5 onwards
Hulk wasnt bad, neither was constantine or V, blade was pretty kick ass too

  17. ydidijointhis says:
